It’s been a busy time of the year. I looked up and realized I hadn’t written in my blog for quite a while. Things happen, and suddenly the months roll by!
One of the most important things to remember during the holidays is not to go overboard. Get presents that mean something but can be used. Otherwise, the gifts fall prey to regifting or the back of the closet.
This season, I concentrated on dishtowels and décor that could be displayed and used around the house. Themes were more generically holiday in nature. I was told that gnomes were the thing, but I didn’t see that in the sales. My gnomes on dishtowels were varied; I had an applique gnome and a gnome with presents. Cute, but what was in the store were the old nostalgic, familiar holiday items like the gingerbread cookie, the cup of hot cocoa with the marshmallow snowman having fun, and a few bottle aprons. I’ll have to branch out and go to some of the gift and curiosity shops locally or spend more advertising next year for online sales.
Now, I’m setting my goals for next year and going to revamp the website. But first, a cup of that cocoa!
Enjoy the rest of the year.
